  • The information below is for reference only. Enrol in courses and check current form, and status, of delivery via ACORN/ROSI. Most Fall courses start the second week of September and most Winter courses start the week after New Year's in January, unless otherwise indicated. See sessional dates provided by FASE.
  • All courses in the 2020 Fall session will be conducted online for the entirety of the session. Some limited and non-mandatory in-person elements may be included in a course at the discretion of the instructor. Instructors who choose to include non-mandatory in-person content in their courses will take measures to record or stream this content so that it is fully accessible online to students who are participating virtually.
  • The catalogues and ACORN/ROSI list all courses belonging to CivMin. Please note that not all courses listed in the catalogues and/or on ACORN/ROSI will be offered each year. The timetables list courses that will be offered in the 2020-21 academic year.

Please note that the timetables are subject to change.  Students are strongly advised to check the timetables regularly for any revisions to the schedule or classroom location.

Practical Experience Requirement (PER)

Every student must complete a minimum of 600 hours of practical work before graduation. The nature of the work should form an integral part of a student’s education and career development. Therefore, it must contain a good measure of responsibility (e.g., management of programs, systems, equipment, personnel, or finances), sound judgment and effective communication, and be supportive of the professional career of the student after graduation. Work in many facets of industry, government or public service would be acceptable for this requirement.

This experience may be obtained at any time during the program, or through the Professional Experience Year Co-op Program (PEY Co-op) or Engineering Summer Internship Program (eSIP). Participation in PEY Co-op or eSIP automatically satisfies the practical experience requirement, provided that students complete and submit the requisite reports. Work done before entering the Faculty may also potentially meet the requirement.

Please click here to download and complete the Faculty’s Practical Experience Requirement Form. Attach a business card from your supervisor and submit the completed form to the Undergraduate Assistant in WB216A. They will review your submission and, if approved, the hours earned will be uploaded onto Degree Explorer. We will contact you if there is a problem with your submission.
