American Rock Mechanics Association (ARMA) competition Nov. 30 (application deadline Nov. 19)
On behalf of the ARMA UToronto Student Chapter, an internal competition will be held on November 30, 2021 (Time and Place TBD) to select the representative for U of T at the 2022 CGS-SOS Graduate Student Competition 2022. The topics presented will be related to the discipline of geotechnical engineering. Evaluation for the CGS-SOS Graduate Student Competition will be based on the following criteria: geotechnical content and interest (60%), oral and visual quality of presentation (30%) and performance during the question-and-answer period (10%) (Evaluation Form attached).
The internal competition will follow the same format as the actual competition, which is a presentation up to 12 minutes, followed by 3 minutes of question.
If you have are able to, I kindly ask that you attend to evaluate and provide feedback to the presenters. Teaching staff (Professors and Assistant Professors) will be grading and evaluating the presentation to select the U of T representative to the main competition through anonymous evaluation forms
