CSEA SEMINAR: Techniques and Design Considerations for Strengthening of Existing Concrete Structures

Keynote Speaker: Senior Vice President with Structural Technologies in Columbia, Maryland, USA. Fellow ACI Member.

Dr. Alkhrdaji is a licensed design professional in the US and Canada. He has been involved in more than 600 projects involving structural repair and strengthening – many of which have received awards from ACI, PTI and ICRI. He is an active member of several professional committees including ACI Committee 440 (FRP Strengthening) and ACI Committee 562 (Repair Code) and ACI 216 (Fire Resistance). He has written more than 40 papers and articles on repair and strengthening of structures and he is the current chair of ACI Code Subcommittee 562-F (Fire).

This presentation will outline design strategies, techniques, materials, and conceptual approaches employed in strengthening concrete structures. Each methodology will be illustrated with real-world case studies.
