SPEAKERS: Jake Mumm & Sinan Al-Jawad

Jacob Mumm, Bechtel’s Senior Vice President & General Manager of Public Infrastructure, and Sinan Al-Jawad, Principal Vice President and Ontario Line Project Director, will provide an overview to students on delivering large-scale rail projects: Ontario Line which is underway, and Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Metro which opened to passenger service in December 2024.

The Ontario Line is a transformative rapid transit line under construction in Toronto, Canada, designed to relieve bottlenecks and improve connectivity across the city. Spanning 15.6 kilometers with 15 stations, it will link Exhibition Place to the Ontario Science Centre, integrating seamlessly with other transit systems.

The Riyadh Metro is an ambitious public transport initiative in Saudi Arabia’s capital, developed as part of Vision 2030 to modernize infrastructure and address the challenges of rapid urban growth. The project features six lines stretching 176 kilometers and 85 stations, employing driverless trains and advanced signaling technology to ensure smooth operation in extreme climates.

About the Speakers: 

Jacob Mumm is a Senior Vice President & General Manager of Public Infrastructure for Bechtel, a trusted engineering, construction and project management partner to industry and government. He is accountable for the public infrastructure operations of Bechtel’s five Key Customer Groups: Saudi Arabia, Northeast Corridor, California, Australia, and the UK & Ireland.

Sinan Al-Jawad is a Principal Vice President & Project Director for the Ontario Line Delivery Partner for Bechtel. He has over 20 years of experience delivering complex infrastructure programs across Canada, the UK, the USA, and the Middle East, leading high-performing, multidisciplinary teams to bring large-scale transportation systems to fruition.
