Mohaddeseh (Mohi) Abdolhosseini, a CivMin PhD candidate, has been awarded the Hatch Graduate Scholarship for Sustainable Energy Research. The scholarship supports graduate students across the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering whose work advances innovative and sustainable energy solutions. Funded by Hatch Ltd., the award recognizes academic excellence and research that contributes meaningfully to areas such as renewable power generation, high-efficiency energy systems, and next-generation energy storage. Recipients receive $10,000 and are invited to share their work at a Hatch-hosted poster session, providing a valuable opportunity to engage with industry leaders and showcase emerging research.
Mohi’s research, under the supervision of Prof. Ibrahim Ogunsanya, focuses on improving the durability and long-term performance of materials used in renewable energy storage systems, particularly within high-temperature environments relevant to concentrated solar power. By exploring advanced alloy systems with enhanced resistance and longevity, this work contributes to the development of more reliable and efficient sustainable energy infrastructure.
