What does it all mean when applying for a NSERC scholarship?

Are you already determined to apply but need guidance in developing your dossier?
Join me on September 7 at 3pm in GB117 for a discussion of the NSERC PGSD and CGSD scholarship application process.
As former member and chair of the NSERC Scholarships and Fellowships Selection Committee for Civil Industrial and Systems Engineering, I invite you to attend a workshop where I will provide you with information and helpful tips in developing your application:
- How to write an effective thesis summary
- Your research proposal
- Your contributions: papers, conferences, peer-reviewed vs not… what matters most?
- How to highlight your leadership abilities
I will also take appointments with those of you who are interested in meeting with me individually either to go over a draft application or simply to discuss your intent to apply.
I will not go over administrative information! Internal and external deadlines, transcripts, eligibility, and other requirements will be covered in an information session organized by the School of Graduate Studies on September 21, 2018, Wilson Hall-New College WI 1017, 30 Willcocks St., 11am-12pm.
Marianne Hatzopoulou is Associate Professor and Associate Chair of Graduate Studies, Civil and Mineral Engineering, University of Toronto. She holds a NSERC Canada Research Chair in Transportation and Air Quality. She served on the NSERC Civil and Mechanical Engineering Scholarships and Fellowships Selection Committee from 2013 to 2016 and subsequently as chair of the Civil, Industrial and Systems Engineering Scholarships and Fellowships Selection Committee (2016-2017).
