For employers who are interested in hosting information sessions specifically for Civil and/or Mineral Engineering students, we'd love to work with you to arrange something on campus
Students are available for 12 – 16 month internships
Students willing to relocate
The internships can start between May and September and end between May and September of the following year
Typically, students complete a Professional Experience Year between their third and fourth years of study
Students work full-time during their internship. They will not be enrolled in core classes during this time, and may only enroll in electives at the discretion of their supervisor and program director
Employers are required to complete 2 evaluations with feedback and performance assessments for the students
Employers spend less on training since the internship period is longer with less turnover than traditional co-op programs
All Professional Experience Year positions are paid
Employers may be eligible for up to $3,000 in tax incentives
MEng in Cities Engineering & Management Practicum (4 months in the summer, paid)
4-month paid internship typically from May-August
Employers are eligible for up to $3000 in tax incentives
Students contribute their skills, knowledge and training from day one
Students have at least one year of professional experience, technical expertise in infrastructure and a fundamental understanding of the issues facing cities
Students return to school for one term with a flexible schedule, following the practicum, allowing for longer-term hires
