WJ Groundwater Canada wjgl.com | In 2016, WJ Group established our Canadian Branch to execute the the largest dewatering project in the country, The Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (ECLRT) project. The ECLRT project consists of 19.7 km of light rail transit running along Eglinton Avenue in Toronto. The project has been designed and constructed by Crosslinx Transit Solutions Contractors (Crosslinx) and WJ's focus was dewatering the tunnels and stations of the underground (most difficult) part of the project. In late 2019, as our work on the ECLRT project was coming to an end, we started to reach out to General Contractors and Developers in Ontario to get on their tender lists for projects that require dewatering. Our intention has been to meet and get to know all the GCs Project Managers, Estimators and Executives in Canada that could potentially use our services. With our unique dewatering methods, procedures and equipment designed for use in combination with tunnelling and our experience of working within constricted urban construction sites we are working with Developers and their Contractors to provide solutions to the complex dewatering needs of a variety of projects from high-rise construction to heavy infrastructure development. Our team of around 40 people of Managers, Engineers, Designers, Electricians, Drillers and Dewatering Operatives and a toolkit of specialist equipment procured locally and from within the WJ Group provide us with the resources capable to undertake some of the largest station excavations in difficult ground conditions comprising closely layered silts, sands and clays.
