We are pleased to invite you to participate in the
Transit Data Challenge 2026, a national hackathon bringing together Canadian university students to tackle real-world public transit challenges through data analysis and innovative problem-solving.
The Transit Data Challenge offers students a unique opportunity to work with real transit datasets, develop applied data science and analytical skills, and connect with leading researchers, transit agencies, and industry professionals shaping the future of urban mobility in Canada.
Participating teams will present their work to an expert panel, with finalist presentations taking place live at the TransitData Symposium 2026 in Toronto — one of the premier international forums on public transit data research. Selected projects will also be featured online during a dedicated showcase period, providing participants with lasting visibility for their work.
Key Dates:
• Submission Deadline: May 30, 2026
• Shortlist Announced: June 5, 2026 (three finalist teams selected)
• Final Presentations: June 25, 2026 — Transit Data Symposium 2026, Toronto
