Mass Timber Today and Tomorrow: A Contractors Approach To Prefabrication and Modular
This wide ranging presentation will outline the basics of mass timber practices today and highlight the various considerations that become important to their construction. The speakers will delve into how our construction group is using mass timber and the prefabrication abilities that unlock low-carbon solutions in our Hybrid Timber Panels and Mass Timber Modular system.

Speakers: Vincent Davenport (CivE 1T0+PEY) & Mark Gaglione (CivE 1T1)

Vincent & Mark obtained their Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering degree from the University of Toronto. They have been with EllisDon for over 10 years where they have worked on dozens of complex projects from coast to coast.  They currently co-lead the EllisDon Building and Material Sciences Department. Their team provides internal technical expertise on Materials Sciences, Building Sciences, Modular Construction and Emerging Construction Technologies. They are currently supporting the delivery of over 500,000sqft of mass timber construction as well as leading the development of several low-carbon housing and commercial building systems. Vincent and Mark are passionate about construction, mass timber, and it’s future role in the fight against climate change.
