Congratulations go to Assistant Professor Shoshanna Saxe, who has won a 2019 Clean50 award in the Emerging Leader category. Canada’s Clean50 awards recognize and honour leaders in sustainability and clean capitalism across Canada. Professor Saxe was selected for this award based on her research, which focuses on why we choose to build the infrastructure we build and the long-term impacts this has on civil society.
This award is significant because it, along with the Clean50 Summit, offers Professor Saxe an opportunity to engage with other award winners and sustainability leaders to discuss their work. The goal of the Summit is to facilitate cross-sectoral learning, collaboration and engagement, creating long-lasting professional connections which will be beneficial in the future. The award also offers an opportunity to raise the profile of some exceptional research being done here at the University of Toronto.
