
CivMin alumnus Moniruzzaman Moni (CivMin PhD 2T4) is a new Alumni Representative on the Engineering Graduate Education Committee, a standing committee of the Faculty Council at the University of Toronto.
“I am honoured to have been selected to serve. This opportunity allows me to give back to my alma mater and contribute meaningfully to the ongoing development of graduate education within the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering. I am committed to collaborating with dedicated faculty, staff, and fellow alumni to support and strengthen the graduate student experience,” says Moni.
Reflecting further, “I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the Engineering Alumni Network’s Nominations & Governance Committee for their trust and to the Office of Advancement and the Faculty Governance team for their ongoing support. I look forward to working with all stakeholders and representing our esteemed alumni community.”
Moni completed his PhD with the Department of Civil & Mineral Engineering in 2024, under the supervision of Prof. Oh-Sung Kwon, with a thesis titled Real-time aeroelastic hybrid simulation for a base-pivoting model building in a wind tunnel. He is currently enjoying his role as Structural Engineer at Stephenson Engineering.
