Celebrating Excellence: Doug Hooton receives the Katharine and Bryant Mather Member Contribution Award from ASTM International
CivMin’s Professor Emeritus Doug Hooton has received recognition from ASTM International at its recent gathering on Thursday, December 11, 2024 in Orlando, Florida. The association’s Committee C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates has honoured him with the Katharine and Bryant Mather Member Contribution Award for advancing concrete standards over a lengthy and productive career.
This prestigious award recognizes C09 members who demonstrate exceptional leadership and technical contributions. Hooton was celebrated “for his distinguished leadership and significant contributions in multiple C09 roles since 1985, notably advancing standards for concrete and its chemical reactions, and significantly enhancing concrete technology and its practical applications.”
